Terms and Conditions (T&Cs)

1. Description of the service

French with Alice offers online French as a Foreign Language (FLE) lessons for adult learners.

Lessons are one-to-one and are provided exclusively online via the Zoom platform.

The offers include in particular:

  • Conversation lessons

  • General French lessons

3. Registration and booking

Lesson requests are made via the contact form available on the website.

After receiving the request, French with Alice contacts the student by email to confirm availability, lesson times and the lesson arrangements.

French with Alice may also offer a preliminary exchange of around fifteen (15) minutes in order to define the student’s learning goals and present these Terms and Conditions.

A booking is considered final only after confirmation by email and receipt of payment.

4. Prices

The applicable prices are those shown on the website at the time of the request.

French with Alice reserves the right to change prices at any time. However, the price of the lesson or package chosen remains guaranteed for the student on the date of booking.

Prices are expressed in euros (€).

5. Payment terms

The accepted payment methods are:

  • PayPal

  • Bank transfer

Single lessons (1 hour)
Payment must be made in full before each lesson.

Hour packages (10 h / 15 h)
Payment must be made in full before the first lesson begins.

No lesson can begin without prior receipt of payment.

An electronic invoice is sent to the student after payment has been received.

6. How lessons are conducted of lessons

Cancellation by the student
Any cancellation must be communicated by email to the following address: contact@frenchwithalice.com.

Any cancellation made less than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled lesson time is considered late.

In the event of a late cancellation, the lesson is deducted and considered due.

Cancellation by the teacher
If French with Alice cancels a lesson, it will be rescheduled free of charge to a date agreed with the student.

7. Cancellations and rescheduling

Cancellation by the student

Any cancellation must be sent by email to: contact@frenchwithalice.com.

  • Any cancellation made less than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled lesson time is considered a late cancellation.

  • In the event of a late cancellation, the lesson will be deducted and remains payable.

Cancellation by the teacher

If French with Alice cancels a lesson, it will be rescheduled at no extra cost for a date agreed with the student.

8. Late arrival and no-shows

If the student is late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time.

If the student does not attend without prior notice, the lesson will be considered delivered after a waiting time of ten (10) minutes.

9. Validity of lesson packages

Lesson packages are valid for six (6) months from the date of the first lesson.

If the teacher is unavailable (holiday or extended interruption), the package validity period is automatically extended.

Any hours not used by the end of the validity period are forfeited, unless an exceptional agreement has been made in advance.

Packages are personal, non-transferable, and non-resellable.

10. Right of withdrawal

In accordance with applicable regulations, a student acting as a consumer has fourteen (14) days from the conclusion of the contract to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to give any reason.

To exercise this right, the student must send their request by email to: contact@frenchwithalice.com before the expiry of the fourteen (14)-day period.

If the student expressly requests that lessons begin before the end of the withdrawal period, they acknowledge that any lesson already carried out before the right of withdrawal is exercised will remain payable on a pro rata basis for the service provided.

If the service has been fully performed before the end of the withdrawal period, and with the student’s express prior agreement and acknowledgement of the loss of the right of withdrawal, this right may no longer be exercised.

11. Refunds

Single lesson

A one-hour lesson that has been fully delivered is not eligible for any refund.

 

Lesson packages

A request to cancel and refund a package may be made only after the first lesson, subject to the provisions relating to the right of withdrawal.

 

The first lesson remains payable and cannot be refunded if it has already taken place.

From the second lesson onwards, no refund of the remaining hours can be granted.

12. Exams and certificates

French with Alice supports students in preparing for official exams (DELF, TCF, CLOE, etc.), but cannot guarantee any result or certification. Results depend on the student’s personal work and the requirements of the examination bodies.

A certificate of attendance or level certificate may be provided upon request.

This certificate is for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute an official certification issued by a government body or an exam centre.

13. Technical issues

If a technical issue is attributable to the teacher (internet connection, equipment, or platform), the lesson will be rescheduled or refunded.

If a technical issue is attributable to the student, the lesson will be charged / deducted as normal.

If technical issues prevent the lesson from being delivered properly, French with Alice reserves the right to offer a rescheduling or an adjusted session format.

14. Intellectual property

All teaching materials provided by French with Alice (documents, exercises, audio, video, worksheets, written content) are for strictly personal use.

Any reproduction, distribution, sharing, or commercial use is prohibited without prior written authorisation.

15. Personal data

The personal data collected (first name, email address, native language, and lesson-related information) is used solely for lesson management and communication between the teacher and the student.

This data is not sold or shared with third parties.

Data is kept for the duration of the teaching relationship and, for enquiries that do not lead to lessons, for a maximum of two (2) years after the last contact, unless otherwise required by law.

In accordance with applicable regulations, the student may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data at any time by writing to: contact@frenchwithalice.com.

16. Complaints

In the event of a complaint, the student is invited to contact French with Alice first by email at the following address: contact@frenchwithalice.com, in order to seek an amicable solution.

17. Applicable law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law.
